Acidsearch-1

AcidSearch is a search enhancement for Safari. It adds unlimited “Search Channels” to the Google search field. Channels can be customized in a nearly infinite variety of ways. AcidSearch also includes powerful features such as JavaScript support, the ability to import iSeek and Butler Search Sites, true hierarchical menu organization, and the ability to search multiple search engines at the same time. AcidSearch also allows you to access your search channels with key equivalents, shortcuts (a la SafariKeywords), and a contextual menu.

AcidSearch is available in English, Japanese, traditional Chinese, Italian, and French. It is compatible with Tiger and Safari 2.0.

What’s new in this version:

Version 0.7b4:

* Recent Searches can now be cleared, but they are still pretty broken. I’ve been focussing on the worst bugs and will fix this up when I get the chance, so again I thank you for your patience!
* A crash when right-clicking in the address bar has been fixed.
* An issue where pressing space in the search field would cause the channels menu to drop down has been fixed. However, if you are still having problems, please open the Options section in AcidSearch’s preferences, and enter a key combo into the “Key to Show Search Channels Menu:” box. This should also make the problem go away.
* The installer now removes old copies of SIMBL or AcidSearch that happen to reside in your user home directory. This was a common cause of installation problems on the last version.
* An issue where context menus didn’t work on form fields has been fixed.
* You can again create new channels by right-clicking on a web page’s search field and selecting “New AcidSearch Channel.”
